Plays for a YA audience

It is enjoyable to see a book brought to life on the stage and, in the case of Shakespeare, it is imperative. However booking theatre tickets often involves having to think ahead and to plan – not always easy when you are busy with everyday life. The aim if this post is not to recommend a specific play or venue but to remind you of what is on offer – maybe one of the plays listed below will appeal or maybe it will prompt you to check your local theatre to see what is on.

There is a London (and Shakespeare) bias here which does not reflect all that is on offer around the country.  The reason for this is that there is so much on that I would never finish the post if I tried to cover all venues.

Half term maybe:

Jane Eyre – Littleton Theatre, London (limited availability)

Othello – National Youth Theatre, London

Jekyll and Hyde – National Youth Theatre, London

Much Ado About Nothing – The Globe, London

It doesn’t only happen in London – have a check if its coming near you:

The Taming of the Shrew – LAMDA, London rom 29 November 2017

War Horse – Brighton Centre, Brighton from January 2018

RSC productions in London or Stratford upon Avon (Hamlet is being performed in a number of venues)
