It is enjoyable to see a book brought to life on the stage and, in the case of Shakespeare, it is imperative. However booking theatre tickets often involves having to think ahead and to plan – not always easy when you are busy with everyday life. The aim if this post is not to recommend a specific play or venue but to remind you of what is on offer – maybe one of the plays listed below will appeal or maybe it will prompt you to check your local theatre to see what is on.
There is a London (and Shakespeare) bias here which does not reflect all that is on offer around the country. The reason for this is that there is so much on that I would never finish the post if I tried to cover all venues.
