Say Her Name by Juno Dawson

Bobbie and her friends believe that the story about Bloody Mary is just that – a story. So they think its a giggle to stand in front of the bathroom mirror and chant Bloody Mary five times. Soon, they aren’t giggling any more.

Finding good YA horror books can be hard – Say Her Name breaks the mould. I made the mistake of reading it before I went to bed and I couldn’t get Bloody Mary out my head! Which is just what you want from a good horror story – what is the point if you don’t end up feeling a little bit scared yourself? However, this is a more than just a horror story – it is part detective story, part boarding school story with a small romance thrown in. Horror is not what I would choose to read but I’m glad I read this book and I’m happy to recommend it.
