100 fiction books secondary school children should read – chosen by teachers #YAbooks

Following from the list produced by the TES of 100 books primary school children should read (commented on here by BT&M), another list has been produced 100 fiction books secondary school children should read. You can tick off the books you have read and see what your score is.

The list is comprehensive and covers a large age range with books ranging from Wonder by RJ Palacio to adult books suitable for teenagers such as Half a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. There is something for everyone on the list, with a preponderance of classics. However, there are enough modern books to balance this list and some popular books such as The Fault in our Stars by John Green, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison and The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

Nonetheless there are some authors and some good books that I think are missing front his list: Maggot Moon by Sally GardnerBog Child by Siobhan Dowd and Out of Shadows by Jason Wallace are a few of the books I would have like to have seen on the list.

Which books do you think should be included?
